Abstract

430,257. Pulverulent-fuel burners. WATSON, J., 5, Hareshore Road, South Wellfield, Earsdon, Northumberland. Dec. 15, 1933, No. 35381. [Class 75 (i)] Primary air and fuel are supplied through a tube b with a whirling movement imparted by a helical vane c to a mixing chamber a and secondary air is supplied through a tube g (or h) to a diverging cone e supported concentrically within the chamber a by helical vanes f immediately to the rear of the converging conical mouth d of the chamber so that the moisture issues as a hollow stream surrounding the stream of secondary air. Gas may be supplied through the tube h (or g) for ignition purposes when a low volatile fuel is used or for controlling the temperature in the burner mouth. The chamber a is provided with an air cooling jacket j.
