Abstract
341,918. Atmospheric gas burners. LILGE, F., 18, Am Grafenbusch, Oberhausen, Rhineland, Germany. Oct. 22, 1929, No. 32071. Addition to 317,582, [Class 75 (i), Burners &c.]. [Class 75 (i).] In a modification of the gas burner described in the parent Specification, gas is supplied through the slots 7 controlled by a piston 6 and an axiallyadjustable valve 9 forms with the piston 6 and a central body 13 connected thereto outer and inner annular openings 11, 15 through which the primary and secondary air are supplied respectively, the valve 9 being formed with conical surfaces 10, 12 co-operating with corresponding seating surfaces on the piston 6 and body 13 so that a selected constant proportion between the effective crosssectional areas of the openings 11, 15 is maintained. The inclinations of the conical surfaces are selected according to the kind of gas supplied and so that the primary mixture formed in the chamber 14 is not explosive. A constant proportion between the constituents is maintained by interconnecting the parts 6, 9, 13. The rod 6<1> may be screw-threadedly engaged with the casing 8 and engage by a further screw-threaded portion of steeper pitch in a crosspiece connecting the rods 9<1>, the parts being adjusted by rotating the rod 61.
