Abstract

305,437. Yarrow, H. E. July 6, 1928. Pulverulent-fuel burners. -A pulverulent fuel burner comprises an annular chamber B having an inlet A for the fuel and its conveying air and fan annular discharge aperture formed by a fixed sleeve D and a sliding sleeve C adjustable as described in Specification 303,701. The secondary air is supplied through a casing N to an annular discharge aperture formed between sleeves F, G and is regulable by means of a rotatable sleeve or louvre Y surrounding ports E<1>. Additional air may enter through sleeve D past an adjustable coned obturator H, the amount being regulable by means of an adjustable plate K. Inclined vanes may be arranged in the discharge apertures to communicate to the fuel mixture and air gyratory motions which are preferably in opposite directions. The inlet A may be arranged tangentially, radially, or at any angle to the chamber B.
