305,270. Duffield, F. L. Nov. 1, 1927. Divided on 305,253, [Class 55 (i), Coking &c.]. Pulverulent-fuel furnaces. - Fuel and primary air are supplied to a combustion chamber a through a pipe c leading from a pulverizer b at a velocity between 150 and 300 feet per second, while secondary air is supplied by a fan d, between thesame limits of velocity, into the combustion chamber through tangential inlets e<1>, f<1> at two different levels, the inlet e' also containing the, fuel and primary air admission pipe. The zone of combustion is regulated by adjustment of the valves g, g<1> in the secondary air pipes. Specification 305,253, [Class 55 (i), Coking &c.], is referred to.
