[Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XIII] A grateless boiler for burning solid fuel under natural draught conditions comprises an internal fuel hopper 5 having water walls 3, 9 with inclined portions 10, 11 non-symmetrically disposed providing an orifice discharging fuel on to an imperforate water-wayed floor 13 curved upwardly at 14a to meet the vertical wall 3 on the side of the boiler remote from the hopper and spaced therefrom by a flue 17. Air for primary combustion is supplied through an opening 20 and air -for secondary combustion is supplied through an inlet 21.
