Abstract

514,012. Supplying air and fuel to furnaces. HALL BOILERS, Ltd., and HOARE, W. J. April 26, 1938, No. 12465. [Class 51 (i)] In a furnace in which fuel is fed by gravity from a hopper 1 through an opening in the wall 3 to an inclined grate 2 secondary air is supplied to the combustion chamber 5 from a passage arranged behind the hopper door 8 and delivered at the upper part of the fuel supply opening. The air inlet to the passage may be at the top of the furnace.
