526,224. Boiler furnaces. CHALLE, B. March 10, 1939, No. 7860. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1938. [Class 51 (i)] A boiler furnace for burning solid fuel comprises a waterjacketed cylindrical combustion chamber 2 provided with a water circulating partition 7 and supplied with fuel from a hopper 3. Air from a compartment 11 passes through a pipe 13 to jets 8 delivering above the fuel and through an opening controlled by a valve 5 to a chamber 12 from which it passes through tuyeres 4 to the fuel bed. The combustion chamber may be arranged with its axis vertical.
