[Class 51 (i).] An internally-fired boiler adapted to burn pulverized fuel is provided with a lining a spaced from the boiler tube h by blocks i to form an annular air supply chamber b from which the air is delivered into the combustion chamber k through tangentially arranged ports c. The mixture of coal dust and air is supplied at e. The lining a is interrupted at the bottom of the combustion chamber to form a passage for ash &c. which is removed through a door g.
