Abstract

277,543. Steinm³ller, L., and Steinm³ller, C. H. Nov. 22, 1926, [Convention date]. Pulverulent - fuel furnaces having combustion chambers b lined with water tubes d and in which burners a giving the dust and air a whirling motion are employed, are provided with independently regulable air feeds e positioned on opposite sides of each burner and so disposed that the currents of air meet in pairs in the flame. The air feeds e are connected to supply pipes g and regulated by throttle members e<2>. The side walls of the combustion chamber may also be lined with water tubes and provided at the top with rows of air feeds e, the supply pipe 9 being formed as a ring. When a number of burners are employed air feeds may be arranged between separate burners. By regulating the throttle members e<2> the direction of the flame and the position of the point of ignition can be controlled.
