Liquid-fuel furnaces; dampers.-Relates to the distribution of air to ash-pits or to oil-fuel burners and to an arrangement of dampers in furnaces for either coal or oil. The damper is of the hit- and-miss type and may be cylindrical, as in Fig. 2, or flat, as in Fig. 7. In both cases there is a deflector such as k arranged adjacent each aperture of the inner of the two hit-and-miss members. In the construction shown in Fig. 7 a damper s, which forms no part of the invention, controls the supply to a burner while the hit- and-miss damper v controls the supply to the ash-pit.
