The air supply to each burner may be separately controlled by providing a separate damper-controlled air duct to each air-box. A door 6 allows access to the burner cone 7. The air-box and lower part of the furnace are covered with fire-brick 9, and a door 10 is provided in the bottom of the furnace. One or more pilot burners 13 may be fitted.
