INTERNATIONAL COMBUSTION CORPORATION, 200, Madison Avenue, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Frisch, M. ; 2285, Sedgwick Avenue, New York, and Lundgren, E. ; Linganore Hills, Frederick, Maryland, both in U.S.A.) Nov. 29, 1929, No. 36664. Convention date, Jan. 3. [Class 75 (i).] Preheated air under pressure is supplied to the casing 30 of one or more burners B having air nozzles 33, 34, 35 and a fuel nozzle 36 which is associated with the air nozzle 33. They are inclined to direct the fuel and flame towards the bed of slag maintained at the bottom of a pulverulent fuel furnace. Dampers control the air supply through the nozzles. In the form shown in Fig. 4, a burner B<1> is supported by the arch 40 just above the slag bed. The fuel and air nozzles may be arranged for tangential firing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modified form of burner as shown in Fig. 9 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
