Abstract
387,751. Liquid and gaseous fuel furnaces. HAMILTON, J., Kia Ora, Palmeira Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea. Sept. 23, 1931, No. 26538. [Class 51 (i).] In a liquid or gaseous fuel furnace of the type in which fuel is supplied under pressure from a jet burner or the like, and a jet of air is supplied from a nozzle opposite the burner, the air is supplied through a nozzle or the like which forms a jet C of sufficient breadth to outspan the flame jet A, and in a direction opposed to that taken by the gases in passing to the outlet from the furnace ; the flame is thus entirely enveloped in the air blast, and the passage of the gases through the furnace is retarded.
