Abstract
474,777. Gas burners. BURDETT MANUFACTURING CO. May 7, 1936, No. 12907. Convention date, May 27, 1935. [Class 75 (i)]. In a gas burner, particularly for butane, propane and the like, in which a combustible mixture is guided by a baffle 17 through an annular outlet so that the flame is directed over the upper surface of a refractory plate 15 to effect complete combustion, the baffle is adjustably supported by a member 21 to form therewith an adjustable restricted annular passage adapted to maintain the flame at the edge of the baffle. As shown, the baffle is adjustable on a screw stud 31, carried by a cross-bar 30, and has a curved under surface 18 co-operating with a conical surface 19 of the member 21. The latter is screwed into a member 22 so as to clamp the plate 15 between shoulders 27, 28. Gas is supplied through a pipe 7 and air by a blower 4 to a mixer 6 connected by a pipe 8, a union 10 and elbows 12 with a plurality of burners.
