Abstract
264,563. Grote, L. Oct. 15, 1925. Pulverulent - fuel burners.-In apparatus for feeding pulverulent fuel to furnaces of the kind in which the fuel is supplied to the burners in a current of hot combustion products mixed with air, the mixture of fuel, air and gases before reaching the burner, is divided into a number of streams which reunite in successive zones within the burner. As shown in Fig. 1, a blower 6 is provided on its suction side with inlets 8, 9, 10 for fuel, cold air and combustion products respectively, which are delivered through a pipe 4 to the burner 3. An additional supply of fuel may be supplied to the pipe 4 at 11. The burner comprises a central pipe 12, Fig. 2, with annular nozzles 13, 14 providing annular passages 16, 17 to which the fuel is delivered by the branch pipes 18, 19 and intermediate branch pipes (not shown), the end of which penetrate the pipe 12 at d to form a constriction and to divert the fuel stream.
