Abstract
1294552 Atmospheric gas burner H MAILE and H WOBBERMIN 27 July 1970 [25 July 1969] 36256/70 Heading F4T An atmospheric burner has an air admission duct and an annular gas feed chamber 11 connected to a gas supply, and also has two annular apertures 14, 19 each defined by a curved surface to induce the Coanda effect, the apertures forming outlets from chamber 11, one downstream of the other. Aperture 14 faces inwardly of the burner axis and aperture 19 outwardly, the end 131 of annular member 13 and outer face 201 of ring member 20 being curved to induce the Coanda effect to produce high velocity gas flow in the direction of arrows 15, 21 and entrain air from inlet 18 in the direction of arrows 17 and 23. An internal tube 24 may be included to promote mixing of gas and air and to accelerate mixture flow to reduce any tendency for lighting-back, and combustion may be further controlled by adjustment of ring members 20, 121.
