Atmospheric gas and pulverulent burners; gas supply.-A burner for pulverulent and gaseous fuel comprises two passages e<1>, e<2>, discharging the fuel with a little injected air through slots f<1>, f<2> into two flat outlets b', b<2> from the airsupply casing a. The outlets b1, b<2> discharge the fuel and air mixture between water-cooled pipes c in two jets meeting at an acute angle in the furnace. Cooling ribs may be provided on the outlets b<1>, b<2>. The slots in the passages e<1>, e<2> are relatively staggered and may be curved back towards one end to facilitate cleaning by brushesinserted through normally-closed openings h. It is usually advantageous to supply more fuel to the middle burner slots than the outer ones.
