527,352. Radiant heat tubes. JONES, W. L. (Electric Furnace Co.). Feb. 18, 1939, No. 12565/40. Divided out of 526,746. [Class 51 (i)] In radiant heat tubes 1 for furnaces baffle rings 4 are mounted on an inner air supply pipe 2 adjacent air inlets 3 and are provided with deflector wings 7 opposite the air holes to prevent a blow pipe action of the air jets on the tube wall and create a turbulent mixture of the air and fuel. Lugs 8 centre the air pipe which extends into the tube at one end, and a gaseous fuel burner at the other.
