Abstract
712,887. Gas burners; lighting burners. DIEPENBROCK & REIGERS, N. V. Dec. 1, 1952, No. 30460/52. Classes 75 (1) and 75 (3) A gas burner of the kind comprising a mixing tube for gas and primary air connected intermediately of the ends of a burner tube provided with flame apertures along its length, has an offset chamber 7, 11 which extends over a part only of the length of the burner tube 4 in the vicinity of the opening thereinto of the mixing tube 1, the mixture being admitted to the chamber 7, 11 through apertures 12 in its wall 11 preferably disposed out of alignment with said opening so as to avoid blowing off of flames at burner apertures 9 provided in the wall 7 of said chamber, the ends of the wall 7 being rounded, and the burner apertures 6, 9, and 10 provided in the burner tube 4 and the straight and rounded portions of the wall 7, respectively, being so spaced and arranged that the jets of gas therefrom will light from one another when any of the jets is ignited. The burner apertures 6, 9, and 10 may be arranged in one or more row or rows. In the illustrated embodiment the apertures 6 are provided in two rows and an additional aperture 6 is provided adjacent each end of the wall 7 between the rows for co-operation with the apertures 10 when the burner is lit. The wall 7 is formed as a stamping and is welded to the tube 4.
