Abstract
1,264,332. Gas burners. D. V. GREAVES. 20 May, 1969 [11 June, 1968], No. 27745/68. Heading F4T. A gas burner comprises a sealed chamber having a lower wall 4 and an upper wall 6 provided with burner ports 11; a gas inlet 8 is directed into a Venturi tube 7 in which forms a combustible mixture of gas and air and immediately below the wall 6 is placed a metal wire gauze 15 which prevents the flames at the ports 11 from lighting back into the burner. As seen in Fig. 3, the burner ports 11 are arranged in transverse rows and smaller stabilizer ports 14 are interposed between the rows; the rows are also connected by an axial line of ladder ports 13 and two axial lines of staggered burner ports 27 are provided. In the modified arrangement of Fig. 4 (not shown), two parallel longitudinal lines of burner ports, and a line of stabilizer and ladder ports are provided.
