Abstract
932,183. Sulphur burners; baffles. CHEMIEBAU DR. A. ZIEREN G.m.b.H. Feb. 16, 1960 [Feb. 17, 1959], No. 5531/60. Classes 51 (2) and 51 (1). In a sulphur burning furnace, to which liquid sulphur is fed by an atomising burner, secondary air is supplied by outlets 7 from an air passage formed by an assembly of refractory units 6 along the top of a wall 5 extending across the lower half of the furnace. Each refractory unit 6, Fig. 3, has a passage through it and an outlet 7. The outlets 7 may be of the same size, or may be graduated along the length of the wall. Alternate refractory units may have no outlet, or each unit may have more than one outlet.
