Abstract

1300145 Gas burner DFC CORP 4 Feb 1970 5314/70 Heading F4T In a gas burner for heating a kiln, a Venturi shaped outer shell 10, has a ring 21 located by flanges 22 in an open base 20 so that air inlet openings 25 are formed, the ring 21 having mounted in it a fitting 12, with an orifice member 14 which has a burner tube 16 concentrically surrounding it. The upper part of the fitting 12 is a press-fit insertion in a central opening 23 of ring 21 and the lower part of the fitting 12 can have an outer hexagonal surface 35 and a lower extension 36 which is threaded for connection to a gas supply. The burner tube 16, provided with longitudinal slots 52, extends upwards through the throat 28 of the outer shell 10, and may either be a press-fit on the orifice member 14 or rigidly mounted thereon by a bracket 18.
