[Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A gas burner for air-heating apparatus, such as Cowper stoves, comprises an outer gas tube 3 and an inner air tube 5a, 5b, extending up to, but not beyond, the wall 1 of the stove so that the gas and air cannot mix before entering the stove. The tubes are divided for the insertion of a single gate valve 9. As shown in Fig. 1, a blower 6 and a driving motor 7 are mounted in a mouthpiece 8 fastened to the burner. As shown in Fig. 2, the outer end 5a of the air tube is surrounded by an annular channel 10 connected to an elbow 12 supplied by a blower so that air issuing from the cylindrical end 11 draws additional air through the part 5a. The elbow 12 and the mouthpiece 13 of the part 5a are formed as a unit e.g. of cast iron, and the parts 5a, 10 are made of sheet metal. In either case, the inner part 5b of the air tube may be provided with inclined tubes 14 for conducting part of the gas supply into the air stream issuing from the air tube.
