Abstract
672,399. Steam-generator furnaces. VORKAUF, H. March 24, 1950, No. 7469/50. Class 51 (i). Means for the introduction of additional air for steam boiler firing are characterized by the provision of one or more air ducts having their discharge openings arranged in the central part of the combustion chamber and surrounded by tubes disposed closely together and traversed by a cooling medium. As shown in Fig. 3, a steam generator is fired tangentially by pulverized fuel through burners 1, thus producing a turbulent flame, and secondary air is introduced through one or more pipes 3 surrounded by cooling tubes 6, the air emerging through openings 4 in each pipe 3. In a modification the cooling tubes are parallel with the axis of the pipe 3.
