Abstract

390,958. Gas burners. SOC. ANON. DES FOURS SPECIAUX, 27, Rue LÞopold, Charleroi, Belgium. April 22, 1932, No. 11671. Convention date, Aug. 6, 1931. [Class 75 (i).] Air is supplied as by a fan through a tangential inlet 6 into a cylindrical chamber 2 surrounding the gas nozzle 13 and sucks gas from the latter into a convergent truncated conical chamber 3. The nozzle 13 is controlled by a needle valve 14 and spreads the jet in the form of a divergent cone. The air inlet is controlled by a hit-and-miss regulator 12 operated by worm gearing 15, 16, the ports 7, 10 being formed with bevelled side edges. The chamber 3 may be connected by a divergent truncated conical chamber 4 to a straight or curved tube 5 at the end of which the mixture burns. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a divergent truncated conical chamber 8 adapted to be fitted to the end of the tube 5 and provided with a tangential inlet 11 for secondary air, which passes through a perforated refractory cone 9 into the gaseous mixture. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
