Abstract

301,851. Turrall, G. H. Sept. 2, 1927. Liquid, gaseous, and pulverulent fuel furnaces. -Pulverulent, liquid, or gaseous fuel, is burnt in a combustion chamber formed with a conical opening 1 to which fuel and primary air are supplied through an annular nozzle c and secondary air through a nozzle b, and additional air through nozzle j. Additional air is also supplied through nozzles k' in the walls of the combustion chamber all the nozzles being arranged so as to assist or maintain the general forward and rotary movement of the combustible mixture. Auxiliary fuel and air supply tubes f, h<1> may be provided. The brickwork of the combustion chamber may be constructed to provide helically arranged ribs assisting the rotary movement of the combustion gases.
