665,217. Gas burners. ASKAM, J. F. June 14, 1950 [June 15, 1949], No. 15928/49. Class 75(i) In a gas burner for use in cremating or incinerating furnaces, of the kind having a primary air jet through which air under pressure is passed for inducing gas supplied through a surrounding restricted annular passage, the gas-air mixture passing to a nozzle or outlet for combustion, a secondary air tube 11 passes through the primary air jet 8 to the nozzle 12 to supply secondary air under pressure to the centre of the flame. Air under pressure is supplied to a chamber 6 and passes therefrom to the jet 8 and through holes 10 into the tube 11. Gas is supplied to an annular passage 5 through an inlet 4 and is induced into the air discharged through the restricted outlet 9 of the air jet 8. The burner may be associated with a combustion chamber having a frusto-conical inlet wall whereby the noise of the flame is reduced.
