Abstract
342,463. Boiler furnaces. KATZ, H., 91, Vogelsangerstrasse, Ehrenfeld, Cologne Germany. Dec. 17, 1929, No. 38652. Con vention date, Dec. 17, 1928. [Class 51 (i).] In a boiler furnace of the type provided with grids arranged in the exhaust flue and means for blowing supplementary air or steam into the waste gases, blast pipes h with nozzles k are arranged behind the grids c and d which are located above or directly behind the fire bridge, so that highly heated supplementary air can be blown into the waste gases in the form of a counter current. The supplementary air is heated by a preheater v. Above the grids is a funnel e connected with the suction side of a blower f and adapted, when the development of smoke is very great, to draw off the smoke to be mixed with the supplementary air which is supplied through a pipe g. In order that the heated mixture of supplementary air and exhaust issuing from the nozzles k may have a high velocity, it is led to the nozzles through counter current passages h and at the point where the direction changes an additional high velocity current of steam or the like is introduced by inlets i, and has an injector action on the main current.
