Abstract

232,663. Dõbritz, G. Jan. 18, 1924. Air supply, regulating; fire-bridges; baffles; combustion chambers, secondary.-The hollow fire-bridge 5 is supplied with air heated in a pipe 7 entering the furnace flue at the rear, and the heated air is delivered by orifices 8 against a baffle 9. The products pass under a second baffle or baffles 10 to the flue 12, dust being carried to the rear of the flue owing to the high velocity of the gases. The inlet end of the air pipe 7 carries a flap valve 13 actuated automatically by the draught or positively from the fire door. The furnace flue is situated to one side of the vertical plane passing through the centre of the boiler.
