Abstract

321,601. Crowther, W. E. Jan. 17, 1929. Air, supplying; baffles. -Air for secondary combustion in a boiler furnace is forced or induced through pipes situated in the boiler flues and terminating in U-shape sections from which it is delivered rearwardly and in front of a perforated screen situated in the boiler flue. As shown in Fig. 1, the air is passed through pipes F arranged in the boiler flues and subjected to increasing temperature. The pipe F terminates in two U-shape sections K arranged side by side and provided with nozzles discharging towards the perforated screen E. In a modification two separate pipes terminating in U- shape sections such as K are led through the ashpit.
