356,448. Composite steam boilers. TETLOW, C. E., The Grange, Withins Road, Hollinwood, Oldham. Aug. 23, 1930, No. 25197. [Class 123 (ii).] A water-tube section consisting of vertical tubes T connected to upper and lower horizontal drums L, Ll is arranged at the side of or between one or more Cornish or like internally fired flue boilers B, the lower drum being disposed below the flue boilers and the upper drum being so disposed as to serve as a steam receiver for the flue boilers. The walls of the downtakes of the flue boilers are formed of vertical feedwater heating tubes. The gases pass from the downtakes forwardly along flues beneath the flue boilers and then back over the tubes of the water-tube section. The flue boilers may be supported on hollow chambers through which the air for combustion is passed. The feedwater heating tubes may be formed in pairs with common inlet and outlet connections to upper and lower drums.
