Abstract
354,545. Sectional boilers. CRANEBENNETT, Ltd., 45, Leman Street, London. Aug. 2, 1930, No. 23308. [Class 123 (ii).] In a boiler built up of transverse sections enclosing the furnace, water flows from the legs 5, 6 at the sides of each section upwards through water spaces 7 extending over the furnace chamber, then through a central vertical passage 8 between flues 15, 16, and then outwards and upwards through passages 12, 13 between the flues 15, 16 and an upper flue 17. Baffles 18, 19 direct the water from the legs into the water spaces over the furnace. The gases pass forwardly through the flues 15, 16 and return through the upper flue to the outlet. The single upper flue may be replaced by a number of separate flues.
