Classes 64(i) and 123(ii) In a sectional boiler in which the walls of the sections 2, 3 define a central fuel supply shoot 1 above a grate 7, each boiler section is constituted by a water chamber of substantially rectangular or substantially q-shaped vertical cross-section, through which extend vertical fire tubes 6. In the form shown, the hot gases flow upwardly and then downwardly to outlet flues 15. The water-cooled grate 7 is removable, and can be replaced by a liquid fuel burner.
