876,213. Sectional boilers. POTTERTON Ltd., THOMAS. June 2, 1960 [July 20, 1959], No. 24917/59. Class 123(2) The vertical water carrying limbs 2 of each cast-iron section of a sectional boiler are interconnected by a series of finned transverse tubes 4 which are alternatively off-set from a transverse centre line x-x so that assembled sections form sinuous vertical passages for the ascent of combustion gases from a combustion space 1 to a collection duct 9 leading to a flue system. Cold water enters the section at two lower headers 5, connected by a horizontal waterway 3 and, after heating, leaves at an upper header 6.
