Abstract

348,977. Feeding fuel to furnaces. KR€MER, B., Zschornewitz, near Halle, Germany. Aug. 29, 1930, No. 25875. [Class 51 (i).] Fuel is fed from a hopper c into a chamber b at the bottom of which is a grinder d adapted to circulate the fuel through the chamber b. The fuel dust is carried into the furnace a by a stream of gases, such as furnace gases or hot air, which passes across the chamber from the pipe e to the furnace. The upward movement of the fuel in the chamber b is promoted by a tangential stream of gases entering through a pipe t. The fuel in the chamber b is dried by the hot gases and by radiation from the furnace.
