Abstract

822,922. Hot-water boilers. FOSTER WHEELER Ltd. May 31, 1956 [May 31, 1955], No. 16860/56. Class 64(1) [Also in Group XII] Oil &c. is heated in banks of radiantlyheated tubes 32, 34, 36 and 40, 41, 42 lining the upper parts of the side walls and the roofs of adjacent combustion chambers 18, 19 having recesses 50 for pulverized fuel burners 20 and auxiliary gas or oil burners 21 the name jets of which intersect one another, so as to effect substantially complete combustion of the pulverized fuel. The recesses 50 are lined with heat-reflective refractory material. The oil is supplied through pipes 44 to convective tube lamps 26 disposed in a flue and connected by pipes 46 to the tube banks 32, 34 and 40, 41 which are connected in series with the roof banks 36 and 42 respectively, the latter having oil outlets 43.
