376,591. Indirectly heated steam boilers. AKTIESELSKABET VOLUND, 147, Oresundsvej, Copenhagen. Oct. 27, 1931, No. 29751. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1930. [Class 123 (ii).] A water-tube boiler is adapted to be heated by coal dust or liquid fuel in addition to fuel such as coal, lignite, wood or garbage or waste gases from rotary cement kilns when it is desired to increase the yield at peak loads. The boiler is provided with banks of tubes 2, 21, 211 arranged above a combustion chamber 5. Under normal working conditions low temperature gases enter the combustion chamber 5 through a damper-controlled flue 8<1> and pass over the three banks of tubes, while at peak loads the gases are diverted through the flue 811 to the space 3 between the banks of tubes 2<1>, 2<11>, and auxiliary fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber 5 by burners 6.
