[Class 123 (ii)] A gas-fired boiler for steam or hot water with a water-cooled firebox top and built in sections each of inverted-U-shape with a water yoke 12 and branches 11 forming water walls, has thin ribs 15 located on the lower edges of the water yokes, the lower edges 16 of the ribs extending in a parabola or pointed arch as far as the side walls of the box, so as to divert sideways condensed water from the flue gas.
