Convention date, Sept. 9, 1932. [Class 123 (ii).] The upflow tubes 1 of a water-tube boiler are connected to the upper portion of a horizontal drum or header 3, entering it tangentially to its inner surface, and the downflow tubes 5 present their open ends to receive the centrifugally circulated water. Steam take-off pipes 4 depend into the drum so that the water issuing from the upflow tubes will not enter them. The downflow tubes may have their ends 8 cut as shown or be tangentially arranged. The boiler may comprise the closed primary circuit of an indirectly heated boiler.
