Abstract

315,473. Babcock & Wilcox, Ltd., (Babcock & Wilcox Co.). April 14, 1928. Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler of the kind described in Specification 288,063 feedwater is passed to the boiler drum 20<1> through a series of tubes 8<1> connected to headers 16 in the furnace flue, and a return path 25<1>, which may include a circulating pump 26<1>, is provided between the drum and the inlet end of the tubes. The upper headers 31, 32 may be by-passed to establish local circulation to prevent burning out of the tubes.
