Aug. 30, 1929, Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler having uptake and downtake headers 13, 12 connected by banks of inclined tubes 11, and a water-tube walled furnace chamber 18, the upper transverse header 23 of the front water-tube furnace wall 20 is connected to the steam and water drum 10 bv a number of uprisers 25 arranged between the headers 13 and the boiler casing 26 and opening at their upper ends into a transverse header 27 connected to the steam and water drum by tubes 28. Upriser tubes 251 connect the upper transverse header 24 of the rear furnace wall directly with the steam and water drum. The tubes in the lower rows of inclined tubes 11 are arranged directly one above the other, while the tubes in the upper rows are staggered. The upper headers 34, 47 of the side tube-walls are connected to the steam and water drum by tubes 35, 48.
