Water-tube boilers. - In a water-tube boiler, nests of water-tubes n connected to top and bottom headers t, b are arranged in two pairs of parallel rows which converge upwardly towards each other and form the sides of the combustion chamber, a steam and water drum d placed between the top headers serving to close in the combustion chamber at the top. The tubes are inclined to the vertical at an angle less than 30‹ and not less than 10‹. A superheater h is arranged between the tube nests on one or both sides of the boiler. Air heaters m are fitted in the uptakes.
