Abstract

245,325. Superheater Co., Ltd., (Ostermann, R. M.). April 21, 1925. Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler fitted with baffles for directing the gases over the tubes, including a baffle arranged parallel to the tubes, a superheater is placed adjacent to the said baffle and out of the path but exposed to the radiant heat of the gases before they sweep the watertubes. In a horizontal tube boiler a superheater 12 is so placed below a baffle 11 and between the lower rows of water-tubes that it is exposed to the radiant heat of the gases from the furnace 3 and is out of the path of the gases, which are directed by transverse baffles 10, 20, upwardly and downwardly among the tubes. The steam is first heated in a superheater 17 arranged in the path of the gases above the water-tubes. The outlet header of the superheater 17 is connected to the inlet header of the superheater 12 by a pipe 15. Specification 225,780 is referred to.
