313,803. Superheater Co., Ltd., (Compagnie des Surchauffeurs). Aug. 10, 1928. Water-tube boilers; sinuous-tube superheaters. -A baffle in a tubulous steam generator, 'superheater, or like heat exchange apparatus consists of a number of U-tubes so arranged side by side that both legs of each U-tube form part of the baffle. Each of the tube elements of a superheater placed in a furnace chamber contains horizontal U-shaped loops 15 - - 18, which, when the elements are assembled side by side, form baffles, causing the furnace gases to take a sinuous course through the chamber to the outlet 22. The, area of the gas passage in the chamber progressively decreases towards the outlet. The elements are supported by brackets 24 on the walls of the furnace chamber. The fluid circulating through the U-tubes forming the baffles may be different from that. in the tubes about which the baffles direct the flow of the heating gases.
