Abstract

191,382. Soc. Franþaise des Constructions Babcock et Wilcox, and Roszak, C. Jan. 4, 1922, [Convention date]. Water-tube boilers.-A superheater 6 and a feedheater 7 are placed in a downtake flue b at the rear of a boiler having horizontal or slightly inclined water tubes. The furnace gases pass over the bridge and rear headers into the top of the flue. An air heater may be placed in the flue either above or below the feed heater. The steam, water, and air flow through the heaters in a direction opposite to the flow of the gases. In modifications, the longitudinal steam drum is replaced by a transverse drum arranged at the front or at the back of the boiler. The boiler preferably has only two or three rows of water tubes.
