Water-tube boilers.-A water-tube boiler has a steam drum 8 arranged between two steam-andwater drums 5, 7 and connected thereto by steam tubes 12, 13 and water-drainage tubes 15. The steam is dried during its passage through the drum 8 and is taken off through a pipe connected to the drum 5. Feed-water is supplied to the drum 5 through a pipe 23. Combustion gases may pass around the bottom of the steam drum or a baffle 24 may be fitted to prevent the gases from coming into contact with the drum. In a modification, the generating tubes are horizontally inclined and connected to front and rear headers.
