Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler having upper and lower transverse drums a, b connected together by a bank d of vertical tubes and to an intermediate transverse drum c by upper and lower banks f, e of inclined tubes, the tubes of the lower bank are longer and more steeply inclined than those of the upper bank, and baffles k, k<1> are so arranged as to direct the gases through the lower and upper banks in turn, and then through the vertical bank. A superheater l is fitted over and along the lower inclined tubes.
