Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler of the Stirling or like type, the tubes connecting the rear steam drum A with the mud drum C is so divided bv baffles as to form three passes for the furnace gases. The front baffle M is extended forwardly at its lower end beneath a superheater placed be.- tween the tube banks. A baffle H is placed about midway between the front and rear of the front tube bank E. This baffle is extended upwards by a short baffle H<1> at the rear of the tube bank.
