Water-tube boilers.-In a water-tube boiler having two superposed stacks of tubes, with at least one steam and water drum common to both, the feedwater is admitted to the downtake headers of the upper stack and is circulated through the stacks in series. Water is fed to the headers 1, Fig. 1, and flows through the stack 3, drum 6, stack 11, drum 9, back to the drum 6. In a modification, Fig. 2, the drum 18 is placed in the circuit intermediate the two stacks. Water is fed to the drum 14. Specification 180,511 is referred to.
