Abstract
529,444. Water-tube steam boilers. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. May 19, 1939, No. 14973. Convention date, May 19, 1938. [Class 123 (ii)] In a boiler having a bank of tubes 4 connecting a lower drum 3 to a separating drum 5 arranged above the water level in a feed drum 1 which is connected to the lower drum by downcomers 2, the separating drum is connected to the lower drum by a row of unheated downcomer tubes 8. The tubes 8 pass below the feed drum and carry a baffle 9 forming the upper part of the front wall of the furnace.
